On Wednesday, September 24, 2024, the President Delegate met with the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Austria, Mr. George Kodek, and the Minister of Justice, Ms. Alma ZADIĆ to deliberate on implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two Supreme Courts in 2022. The meeting focused on devising a plan for judicial cooperation and the exchange of expertise, drawing upon the discussions held between both parties regarding the judicial systems of their respective countries and the judicial expertise available to each Court.

Moreover, the discussions between the SCJP President Delegate and the Austrian Minister of Justice focused on the potential to reinforce cooperation between the Moroccan judiciary and the Austrian justice system and address suitable approaches for promoting and deepening judicial collaboration between the two nations, in a manner that upholds and respects the nearly 242-year-old historic relationship between Morocco and Austria.

It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Austria celebrated 240 years of strong historical ties during the visit of Austrian Advisor Karl Nehammer to Morocco on February 28, 2023.

Mr. Azzeddine El Farhane, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to Austria, participated in the meetings.
